Future of Education – Ericsson Networked Society
A pretty simple idea, don’t you think? There is no “Future of Education”, but only the future systems, technologies, and frameworks of the on-going (or lifelong) learning. This is the main idea of the Ericsson Networked Society activation that started in 2012.
I was part of this life-changing activation, meeting and hearing so many inspiring personalities and their view on the future of young talent’s learning paths. The film was a provocative question to the school/university “system” that has stayed the same for very long. It is a ‘status quo’ that creates more problems, than what it ‘solves’.
It is a system of favouritism, copy-paste, and theorizing endlessly. For sure, it is not securing thought-lead, openness, creativity, and judgment. It doesn’t aim to build the soft skills that will save the day for inquisitive and creative minds in the future.
There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning – Jiddu Krishnamurti
From the very minute, I saw the final montage edit of the film and before we tweet about it, I was sure that I have to be louder in questioning the “system”. And this is what I do for years now. I might not have the best of results, because few really hear, but I will continue telling the truth about it.
You, my dear young friend, and my kids will change 7-8 different jobs (not employers in the same line). The ‘system’ lies to you. The ‘system’ only wants that you walk its routine path as millions before you. A ‘system’ created 30 years ago, for them, for their routine.
It doesn’t work! We should fix it. Now! …or it will be too late.
